The fortunate ticket, featuring all six winning numbers, carried a staggering $478.2 million payout. This winning ticket was purchased at Quick Mart on Buford Dam Road. The recipient can opt for either the full annuitized prize of $478.2 million or a cash option valued at $230.6 million, with both figures subject to taxation.

Georgia Lottery regulations stipulate that winners of prizes upwards of $250,000 may keep their identities confidential upon written request. Participating in a Powerball game costs $2, with jackpot odds set at 1 in 292 million. Drawings occur nightly every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The last significant jackpot, amounting to $44.3 million, was claimed in California in August 2024. Previously, the last major win in Georgia was achieved by a couple in 2016, who secured $246 million, electing a cash payout of approximately $165 million.
